Apple uses the first 5-nanometer chipset in the mobile world, the Apple A14 Bionic, in the iPhone 12 series. According to Apple, this chipset is up to 50% more powerful in terms of general processing power and graphics processing, and up to 70% in terms of artificial intelligence processing power, compared to the previous generation. Of course, you know that in the real world, the difference is not so noticeable. IPhones have always been fast and can last up to 4-5 years. Increasing the RAM to 6 GB and increasing the base storage to 128 GB are welcome.
To evaluate the power of the A14 Bionic chipset, we compared the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro. The best results obtained by these two phones in the Antutu test are shown below (iPhone 12 Pro on the right and iPhone 11 Pro on the left).
In the Antutu test, which measures the overall performance of the device, the iPhone 21 Pro scores about 594,000 points and is 13% stronger than the iPhone 11 Pro. Of course, in the Android world, we are facing much better results than this, especially phones with Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset, which have reached a score of 650,000.
In the 3DMark test, however, we see different and even contradictory results. The following are the results obtained by these two phones in the slingshot (extreme) and wildlife (extreme) tests (iPhone 12 Pro on the right and iPhone 11 Pro on the left).
In the Slingshot Extreme test, the iPhone 12 Pro performs slightly better than the iPhone 11 Pro. In the Slingshot Extreme Unlimited test, the superiority of the iPhone 12 Pro becomes a little more pronounced. In the new Wildlife test, the iPhone 12 Pro is significantly weaker than the iPhone 11 Pro, and finally in the Wildlife Unlimited test, we see a noticeable superiority of the iPhone 12 Pro over the previous generation. It is practically impossible to analyze these results. It is safe to say that the iPhone 12 Pro GPU is not 50% better than before.
An important issue to note is the instability of the iPhone 12 Pro test results. This is especially evident in the 3DMark graphics test. As you can see in the image below, the iPhone 11 Pro goes through a reasonable process in the Wildlife stress test, but the performance of the iPhone 12 Pro drops significantly after the first test. Of course, I did not experience a drop in performance while running heavy games.

At least according to the benchmark results, the iPhone 12 Pro is not the strongest phone on the market and has not improved significantly compared to the previous generation. However, I must reiterate that these results do not matter in the real world. The iPhone 12 Pro opens all the applications in an instant, runs all the games without lag, and remains at the same level of performance for several years.
One of the most important features of the 2020 iPhones, which was often heard at the unveiling event, is the support of 5G network. The iPhone 12 Pro series covers a wide range of 5G network bands using Qualcomm X55 modem. US-specific models even support 5G millimeter wave. Now, if the 5G network is made available to the public in Iran, we can also test the speed of the iPhone 12 Pro network.
